Sarah Halvorson, LMFT

Sarah Halvorson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, earning her Master’s Degree from North Dakota State University. Formerly, Ms. Halvorson served as Professional Consultant with the Dupage County Health Department specializing in crisis triage for families and adolescents requiring collaboration and advocacy with families, community resources and schools. In that role, Ms Halvorson led community advocacy services as the school liaison. Ms. Halvorson also directed the first Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program for Teens with Anorexia, Bulimia and Binge Eating on Chicago’s North Shore.
Currently, Ms. Halvorson provides psychotherapy and collaborative services for adolescents and young adults who struggle with eating disorders, trauma, life change and transition, coping with sports injury and mood related disorders. She enjoys working with families and couples and assisting them in identifying and mobilizing their individual strengths. Ms. Halvorson appreciates relational and systemic factors and their influence on the individual’s relationships and coping. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) and a member of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD) and the Binge Eating Disorder Association (BEDA). Ms. Halvorson is currently Director of Clinical Services with Ascend.
