Natalie Baur

Natalie Baur is a social work intern at Ascend, completing her second year as a Master of Social Work student at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Her concentration is Advanced Clinical Practice in Healthcare and is a BHWELL (Behavioral Health) scholar within her program. Natalie graduated with her B.A. in Collaborative Health and Human Services from California State University, Monterey Bay in 2019 and has worked at a variety of different mental health care providers including long-term care, hospitals, and inpatient facilities. Natalie has a passion for working with adolescents, young adults and adults who experience symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns—as well as relating all of these aspects into providing care to those who experience disordered eating and eating disorders. She uses the Health at Every Size approach and incorporates elements of ACT, CBT, and DBT to help clients develop healthy and positive coping skills and therapeutic approaches to ease these symptoms and make life feel more manageable! She is allied with the LGBTQ+ community, and believes in advocating and providing a safe space in order to cultivate a healing and positive space for all clients.
