Karissa Yu
Staff Therapist

Karissa Yu is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a master’s degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign School of Social Work. As a former crisis clinician, Karissa has experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds with a variety of life experiences. Karissa is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults across a variety of settings. She is interested in aiding her clients in addressing childhood trauma, traumatic experiences, depression, anxiety, challenging interpersonal relationships, and more. Her goal is to create a safe space for these individuals where they feel comfortable, empowered, and heard. In therapy, Karissa enjoys using therapeutic modalities such as CBT, exposure therapy, and mindfulness training depending on clients’ needs and strengths. 

In her free time, Karissa enjoys snuggling on the couch with a cozy blanket watching Hallmark movies, relaxing outside by the fire pit, playing with her dog, and enjoying time with her family.
