Cole Philippou is currently pursuing his Master’s in Counseling at Northwestern University’s Family Institute. Cole holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of Miami, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was awarded Most Outstanding Student in Management.

Cole has worked with a variety of age groups; he researched the social and emotional readiness of elementary school children before serving as a trained listener for 7 Cups, an online platform that offers affordable psychological services to clients across the globe. Additionally, Cole has spent time educating, advocating, and fundraising to raise awareness of mental health issues affecting male college students.

Cole has particular clinical experience working with depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, and substance use disorders. He believes in a personalized approach to counseling, tailoring treatment based on client values, evidence-based research, and clinical expertise. He strongly believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship and his philosophy is to empower clients with the goal of building self-efficacy. Cole integrates multiple empirically-supported frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Psychodynamic Theory.
